Electricity generation from renewable energy sources in Azerbaijan increased by 205.3 million kWh in the first half of 2022, Energy Minister Parviz Shahbazov said, Azernews reports.

The minister also noted that the electricity production in the country increased by 2.3% and amounted to 13.5 billion kWh in January-June this year.

Renewable energy currently accounts for 17% of the country’s total energy production. The goal is to increase these percentages to 30% by 2030.
The potential of renewable energy sources in Azerbaijan is 27,000 MW, including 3,000 MW of wind energy, 23,000 MW of solar energy, 380 MW of biomass energy and 520 MW of river energy. Mountain.
